Meet the team at Altass Cheshire 

Sue and Hannah co-founded Altass-Cheshire in 2016 and have completed thousands of Mental Capacity assessments between them. At Altass Cheshire our person-centred approach is at the core of our work. In order to ensure this we regulate all that we do through audits, supervision and continual professional development. 

Sue Altass 

Specialist in Mental Health Capacity Act Assessments and Recovery Therapy. 
She has a BSc in Strategic Development, is a trained R.M.N. (Registered Mental Nurse), with diplomas in N.L.P (Neuro-Linguistic Therapy) and Psychotherapy, and has many years experience in Gestalt Psychotherapy and leadership coaching. Sue is registered with ENB and BACP and has the Best Interest Assessor Qualification within her extensive portfolio. 
 
Sue is a Specialist Mental Health practitioner, working with individuals and families, with over 20 years experience in the NHS. She progressed to managing new healthcare services to help change the perception of Nursing. She enabled teams to provide an up to date and efficient workforce, delivering key agendas in challenging times in healthcare. 

Hannah Cheshire 

Registered Social Worker with specialist skills and professional competence in providing Mental Health Capacity Assessments and Recovery Work. 
She has a BSC (Hons) in Social Work and MSc in Management and Leadership in Health and Social Care. Hannah is registered with HCPC and BASW. And has the Best Interest Assessor Qualification within her extensive portfolio. 
 
Hannah is a Specialist Social Work Practitioner, working with individuals and families, with over 20 years’ experience in the NHS and Voluntary Sector. She has extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of social inclusion, specialising in substance misuse recovery. She managed health and social care services to help change the perception of Social Work.

Paul Spence 

Paul suffered a brain haemorrhage in 2012, which changed his world. As a result of this he has taken the challenge on, of becoming a support to others, through his Charity P.A.U.L – For Brain Recovery. 

Sarah Long 

Sarah is a qualified mental health nurse who qualified as a RMHN in 2018 and is experienced in acute mental illness, dementia, and rehabilitation. She currently is employed by the NHS as a specialist nurse for individuals experiencing first episode psychosis. Her role as a RMHN involves assessing decision specific mental capacity on a regular basis. 

Claudia Hickson 

Claudia has trained as a mental health nurse at the university of Stirling and has lots of experience working within the community and hospital setting. She is currently completing a Diploma in Dialectical behaviour therapy where she will then become an accredited DBT practitioner. 

Stephen Mullender-Lock 

Stephen qualified with a MA in Social Work in 2006 and has been a registered with Social Work England since 2008 and gained a post-graduate diploma in Systemic Working with Children and Families in 2014. Stephen has worked in an adolescent psychiatric unit, adult mental health settings, homeless hostels, a children's hospice and a therapeutic community working with children with sexually harmful behaviours in their pasts. Stephen is concerned about issues of social justice and inequality and believes in equal opportunities for all and opposes oppression. 

Andrea Leek 

Andrea is amazing at administration, she keeps Altass-Cheshire ticking. Andrea is married with three children and has done a variety of jobs to fit around her being a mum. She has a degree in enviromental studies and a lot of skills utilised in the running of the business.
